An Art Deco bird's-eye maple veneer dining room suite attributed to Epstein, comprising a dining table with rounded corners above a twin pedestal base and a fitted protective glass top, together with a set of six matching cream leather upholstered cloud back chairs, the table 76.5 cm high x 180 cm wide x 92 cm deep, the chairs 83 cm high.

Condition Report

The Chairs

All the chairs are structurally good but have a slight amount of movement across the seat frame as is to be expected, the cloud backs are in good order without splits or cracks, the walnut cross-grain edge of each back is intact without any loses

Two seats have slight rips towards the rear of the seats but this is only visible when the seat is pushed down in this area, difficult to explain but see images for clarification.

One chair has slight veneer slithers of veneer missing from the edge of the rear sabre legs, again see images.

The Upholstery is generally good and is very clean and bright

The height to the seat top is approx 49 cm

The Table

The table is structurally good and the top is free from splits or cracks, the table frieze has a slight shrinkage crack between the top and the frieze at one corner, see images

The frieze has signs of old minor repair to veneer nibbles to the lower edge of the frieze, presumably from snagging on clothing whilst in use

The finish is good and clean and bright without issue.

The top has a large plate glass cover top the top, this is also without chips, cracks or major blemishes.

The height to the underside of the frieze (Kneeroom) is 66 cm high approx
