A pair of Japanese panels, Meiji period, late 19th century, inlaid and applied with carved bone, depicting an eagle upon a blossoming branch eyeing a monkey balancing on a branch above, with carved and stained red signature tablet, the accompanying panel shows the eagle with the unfortunate monkey in its talons, each reverse painted with a bird amongst blossoming flowers against a red wash ground, 99cm x 50.5cm
