A finely carved Japanese Meiji period okimono in the form of an intricately detailed study of a standing elderly lady, the robbed figure stands bare-footed, a stitched leather water bag beside her feet, her hands meting at her waist holding a central tapering bamboo walking cane, a large wide-brimmed hat rests on her shoulders, tied around her shoulders with ribbon, her long hair loosely flowing down her back, her face finely detailed with intricate suggestions of her age, the shaped base with an inset signed mother-of-pearl cartouche to underside, 18.5 cm high.
