An early 20th century mahogany and inlaid aneroid barometer, signed 'A. Franks, Manchester', with broken scroll pediment, over twin columns enclosing a mercury thermometer (with coil design to the bottom), the case with scroll edges, the inlaid decoration depicting Classical figures in different weather-related scenes, 79 cm x 29 cm.

Condition Report

The case has a very slight shrinkage crack on the right-hand side. Near the area where the carved scroll is situated.

The register plate could do with cleaning.

I can't test the barometer function as I don't have a big enough bag to put it in.

On the whole, the barometer is in good cosmetic order with no splits or missing inlay or mouldings.

The glass is intact
