A scarce Royal Worcester porcelain Ltd edition 5/10 for Goviers of Sidmouth large two-handled urn and cover, painted with a cock and hen pheasants against the backdrop of a fine English country house, signed P. Stanley (Paul Stanley), with high domed cover above a baluster body with Etruscan-style mask head, handles over pedestal with plinth foot, in original presentation box of issue. 34 cm (overall height of urn)
Paul Stanley; Is regarded as one of Royal Worcester's most experienced and celebrated artists of the late 20th century and is considered a master of the still life genre, However, very few of his excellent game bird painted works were produced reflected by the very limited edition of ten of which the above vase is number five.
