A good Japanese ivory dressing table set, Meiji period, signed Maruki?, each subtly carved with fish swimming on shallow waters, comprising a dressing table box, three brushes, a comb, button hook, hand mirror, cylindrical pot and cover, glove stretchers and a shoehorn, the shoehorn carved with fish swimming up a waterfall, all but the pair of clothes brushes signed, the box 14cm wide 1614 grams gross weight

Condition Report

The circular pot has slight shrinkage cracks to the top

The mirror has some cracks to the handle

The pair of brushes has slight shrinkage cracks to their backs

The hairbrush has some fine cracks to the handle

The glove stretchers have some yellow staining on their handles

The comb has an inset patch see the images

The box has some fine cracking to the top and some shrinkage at the corner mitre joints
