Vintage Fashion: F.U.'s Collection, late 1970s early 80s

A group of hand-drawn pencil and ink drawing for the F.U.'s Jean Machine logo designs by Ceril Campbell within navy blue card covers, and a promotional card design depicted the shop front of the branch at 100 New Bond Street, London, together with;

An Original pink jumpsuit, a prototype sample made from parachute silk, as featured in the promotional advertising poster and newspaper clippings, with a half-length diagonal zipper fastening, with two ankle zips and ankle button fastening, three zip pockets, one to either hip and one to the right breast, label reads 'Sachi New York', size S, accompanied by a vintage promotional poster for F.U.'s displaying the jumpsuit along with newspaper clippings of the afformentioned jumpsuit being displayed in different media;

F.U.'s. for Jean Machine, a vintage pair of white denim dungarees c. early 1970s, with dungaree buckle fastenings, central pocket across chest, with two pockets to the front hips and two more to the outer legs, with two pockets to reverse, the two labels to reverse read 'Jean Machine. Utility Jeans' to centre back and 'F.U.'S' to right back pocket, with 'Jean Machine' red label to right back leg, no size marked, approx. size S.

Ceril Campbell grew up in Chelsea, London, and hung out with ‘the Chelsea crowd’, who at that time included Mick Jagger's brother Chris, Jane Birkin's brother and Marianne Faithfull, Patti Boyd, and others. On Saturdays, whilst still at school, she worked on the Kings Road in boutiques such as Mr Freedom and Jean Machine whilst studying fashion design. In the late 1970s Ceril was F.U.’s creative designer for the fashion chain’s flag ship stores in Bond Street and Knightsbridge.
