Thomas Field of Bath. A George III double fusee bracket clock in mahogany case. Fitted a silvered one pieced arched top dial with strike silent in the arch and calendar dial at 6 o'clock, marked Thos Field Bath correspondingly to the dial and backplate. The eight-day movement chiming the hours on a single bell fitted with pendulum stay. The case with leaf capped bale handle and supported on ogee moulded bracket feet. Height excluding handle 38.5cm. 45 cm high overall x 29 cm wide overall x 17.5 cm deep overall. Dial size 16.5 cm wide x 24 cm high.

Condition Report

The case has some minor shrinkage cracks to the side and a few minor cosmetic chips to the veneer.

The movement winds freely and runs (no guarantee of accuracy or reliability)

The movement has been recently cleaned by its look.

The chiming train winds freely and chimes the hours but would need regulating to correspond to the indicated hour and number of strikes.

The movement is fitted with an anchor escapement.

The movement is fitted with a pull repeat

but the case doesn't seem to have been drilled for the cord repeat.
