Early 19th century mahogany and rosewood square piano, by Thomas Tomkison, stamped no. 7011 inside the right-hand front side and inscribed 'Tho Tomkison Dean Street Soho, Makers to His Majesty' on a recessed plaque above the keyboard, the case supported upon ring turned baluster legs terminating in brass caps and castors, 84 cm high x 172 cm x 68 cm. Most keys produce a sound (although out of tune). Approximately four apparently not working. Strings appear intact, with some hammers missing. Some staining and sunlight bleaching to the case.
