Auguste Theodore Desch (1877-1924) French, a half-length portrait of a finely dressed seated lady, a vase of flowers over her right shoulder, oil on canvas, signed 'Desch' to left hand side, 71.5 cm x 58.5 cm in a carved giltwood frame.

Condition Report

Provenance: The sitter was the great grandmother (and Paris resident) of the vendor, with the painting remaining in the family by descent.

Condition: Some white spots evident in places, possibly small splashes of emulsion paint. No tears to the canvas. Light cracking visible on close inspection. Some minor losses to the frame decoration.
