A Victorian hairwork mourning brooch, of oval form with glazed compartment encasing braided hairwork, in mount surrounded by ornate repoussé scrolls, backed with blue velvet and fitted with a hinged-pin stem and C-catch to the reverse, in unmarked yellow metal surface testing as 9ct, measuring approximately 7.1 cm x 6.3cm.
