A large Kangxi period blue and gilt porcelain vase attracted the most interest. It was bequested to the vendor from a friend, a Chiswick-based, Chinese native dealer, who was without family and passed away two years ago. With six telephone bidders, it finally sold for £37,000 after a 5 minute bidding battle. The original owner also gifted several 20th century Chinese scrolls which made a total of £5000 hammer on the day.
