The Jewellery Department at Dawsons is proud to be offering a marvellous selection of fine jewels, watches and silver within our auction this July.
A fine private collection of antique emerald jewellery includes a beautiful Victorian bangle set with a faceted emerald flanked with sparkling old-cut diamonds.
Lot 232 An enchantingly beautiful Victorian Emerald and Diamond Bracelet. Estimate: £4,000 - £6,000
From the same wonderous collection is an impressive diamond lavaliere necklace, set with mixed old-cut diamonds, in a fitted case. These pieces have been lovingly handed down the family for generations, and are now seeking new homes.
Lot 110 An incredible antique diamond lavaliere necklace, suspended with two large diamonds. Estiamte: £8,000 - £12,000
From another private family collection comes an incredible diamond and sapphire brooch. Although the sapphire is not certified, it is reputed to be of Sri Lankan origin; surrounded with three and a half carats of old cut diamonds, it will be one to watch on the auction day, with a tempting estimate to tickle suitors taste buds.
Lot 155 A fine Victorian sapphire and diamond brooch, set with a cushion-cut sapphire. Estimate: £7,000 - £10,000
This sale features a 1972 Rolex GMT Master 'Pepsi', whose owner has sailed extensively, whilst also living and working in many countries across the globe.
Their travels over the years have taken them both via air and sea to the big old USA, steamy South America, deepest Africa, northern and southern Europe, the far east and the middle east – one trip of which involved travelling through an actual war zone. Whilst there was also an attempted mugging in Brazil, which resulted in three operations to the owner’s shoulders… but despite this violent attempt to lever it away, he still managed to keep hold of his beloved Rolex!
Lot 511 A rare 1972 Rolex GMT Master 'Pepsi', with a truly incredible life story. Estimate: £8,000 - £12,000
Throughout the owner’s eventful, sometimes extremely dangerous, but always excitement filled life, the Rolex has forever been his faithful companion… Indeed, it has kept accurate time on his many voyages around the world. This extraordinary timepiece is now seeking a new owner, perhaps to begin a new adventure or two!
Silver abounds once again amongst the spectacular items of Jewellery, and one of the top Lots is undoubtedly a wonderfully kept and much treasured set of four Danish Georg Jensen Acorn design plates.
Lot 356 A set of four Danish Georg Jensen Acorn design silver plates, designed by Johan Rohde in 1915. Estimate: £2,000 - £3,000
Also featuring prominently amongst the gorgeous silver on show, is a large Victorian silver six light candelabrum table centre piece. London 1854 by Smith, Nicholson & Co (Stephen Smith & William Nicholson). Of naturalistic foliate design on triform panelled base, with pierced cast scrolling foliate foot, with an acanthus leaf at each corner.The base with applied cast musical motifs.
Lot 456 A large Victorian silver six light candelabrum table centre piece. Estimate: £1,500 - £2,000
