Silver and pearls were the highlight lots within our recent Jewellery sale

Following our Jewellery, Silver & Watches sale of 21st October, we invite you to explore some of the exquisite lots from the sale. There was unquestionably a theme of pearl and silver on the day; expect pearls beyond your wildest dreams and shiny silver fit for a Halloween tea party - how fitting, just before All Hallows' Eve! 

Starting us off is this curious little fellow - a George III silver cow creamer by John Schuppe from 1764. This lovely creamer displays a curled tail in the shape of a loop while standing four square with a punch matted body and a hinged floral cover set with a fly handle.

It was a winning streak for the cow creamers on the day as they proved to be a keen favourite amongst the bidders. We also had this George III silver gilt cow creamer from London 1764 by John Schuppe. This particular creamer sports a similar hinged floral cover set with a fly handle, and sold for £3,000.

This wonderful Victorian four-piece silver tea set from 1849, London, by Edward, John & William Barnard concludes our exciting silver picks. The set includes a hot water pot, teapot, milk jug and a sucrier - all displaying a compressed melon form bearing engraved monograms and pumpkin knops and scroll feet. It was an excellent result for our client, as it sold for £1,400.

As the saying goes, diamonds are a girl's best friend - but what about pearls? We certainly make sure not to forget about them here at Dawsons. This month, a definite star of the show was a magnificent strand of natural saltwater pearls, which sold for £3,500 on the day.

Also under the hammer was a natural freshwater and saltwater pearl necklace containing 81 pearls. This beautiful necklace is fastened with a blue and white paste stone clasp and comes with an official certificate stating the pearls to be of natural origin. The lucky bidder who walked away with this beautiful necklace paid £2,900.

A perfect combination of sparkle and shine - a pair of South Sea pearl and diamond stud earrings - showcasing three brilliant-cut diamonds, with a total of approximately 1.8 carats. The charming earrings sold for £2,000.

Last but certainly not least, was a South Sea pearl and diamond pendant. Featuring a white metal mount pave set with brilliant-cut diamonds. A magnificent lot that went home with one lucky bidder for £1,500.
