A Victorian diamond and emerald insect brooch in the form of a fly, the abdomen set with a mixed pear-cut emerald, measuring approximately 10 x 8 mm, the body set with an old mine cut diamond, the wings inset with mixed-cut emeralds and diamonds, (one lacking), screw-mounted onto a brooch setting, wingspan 4.6 cm.

From a prominent 19th century Northern Irish family, thence by descent.
