Condition Report
Gilt Armchair:
The carved ribbon crest has been glued back on and shows an abundance of glue.
The joints of the back uprights and cresting rails have been repaired again this has been a "glued" repair, rather than restoration.
Some of the gilding and gesso has come off the back and been re-gilded in small areas and high spots.
The frame is sturdy but could do with some further work to remedy the "glued" repairs
The pair of chairs:
Both chairs have been repaired at the point where the cresting rails join the back uprights one shows some attempt at colouring the repair both frames have some movement across the joints and show sign of old dowel repairs to the seat frame joints.
