Condition Report
One upright of the back has a break, with the grain and an old repair to the back leg
Old signs of woodworm activity to the inner frames. Some wobble to the frame and joints need to be firmed up.
The corner blocks have been re-blocked and I am suspicious that a couple could be replacements.
The chairs have both had reinforcing corner blocks to the inner corners of the frames.
To sum up, these are basically George III chairs that have had running repairs and may have had blocks replaced as needed to keep the chairs in service. The biggest problem is the break in the upright and the nasty repair to one of the back legs.
I have sought to be as comprehensive in my report but it is possible some minor age-related blemish has escaped my attention.
