Lot 13 - A 1965 G-Plan No.6250 'Blofeld's Chair'...

A 1965 G-Plan No.6250 'Blofeld's Chair' armchair, reputedly designed by Paul Conti c1963, the black leather upholstered body on a wooden base with casters, much-loved, a little wear, and one small tear to back, approx. 89cm wide, 90cm deepest, 100cm high. This chair is best known as the chair used by James Bond's arch-enemy, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, as played by Donald Pleasance in 'You Only Live Twice' (1967). However, Blofeld's chair in the film had a modified base to give Pleasance's shorter stature a bit of a 'lift'. The February 1963 G-Plan catalogue described the chair as "...a chair of uncompromising dimensions and comfort, amply meriting its description as the world's most comfortable chair." Ideal for world domination, we at Dawson's Towers feel!
