A Chinese sandalwood and embroidered silk fan, probably Canton, second half 19th century, the silk leaf embroidered with a dragon chasing a pearl through clouds, the guards carved with a bat above figures, building and pine trees above assorted flowers, the gorge sticks pierced and carved in low relief with figures, flowers and buildings, with silk tassels, in a fitted box with applied cloth binding and glass top further in turn within a lacquer and gilt decorated presentation case 58.5cm open, 31.5cm closed
