An Edwardian combined sovereign holder and vesta case in 9ct gold, by S Blanckensee & Son Ltd., Chester 1907, of rounded rectangular form, ornated all over with engraved foliage and scrollwork design, centred with a round empty cartouche, one end with hinged vesta cover and integral striker to the top, the other end with suspension ring with push button to release cover over the spring-loaded sovereign holder, gilt interiors, overall measures 8.0 x 2.9 cm, total weight of item 30.4 grams.
