An early to mid 17th century South German Augsburg-type walnut table cabinet, the exterior with simple boxwood stringing and applied rectangular ivory panel engraved with Roman legionnaires and bearing the legend: Ardeatos Duce Camillo Gallorum Castra, the fall opening to reveal an interior with simple marquetry bands and inset engraved gilt metal panels to the long and short drawers and central cupboard, the whole supported by turned and ebonised feet, 33 cm wide x 22.5 cm deep x 28.5 cm overall height.
