A large Chinese carved bamboo bitong, possibly Republic period, carved in relief with a butterfly and blossoming prunus, the reverse incised with boats, birds and mountains, above a barbed collar band, together with a smaller and later noting, carved with a pagoda and pine tree, 17cm & 14cm respectively

A few fine age cracks to the base of the larger bitong, but nothing too significant.
