A 19th century Maori chief's / fighting staff (taiaha) one end decorated in a traditionally carved point, a Janus head with pointed tongue (arero) with symmetrical double-sided incised detail, the tapering shaft terminating in a shaped flattened end, with an even patination throughout, 140 cm long, of Tribal / Oceanic interest.
