An 18th century silk work oval portrait of Mrs Siddons as Matilda kneeling in profile gazing to the left, atop a harlequin floor, housed in a gilt frame with oval window. Mrs Siddons was arguably the best know tragedienne of the 18th century, she was dubbed as 'Tragedy Personified'. 39 cm high x 22.5 cm wide.
