Two Japanese cared ivory netsuke, late Meiji, carved as Budai and a flautist, each looking towards the heavens, 3.8cm & 4.5cm, together with a Victorian carved bone dip pen, 17.2cm when open, by repute the netsuke were originally brought back by a sea merchant circa 1898, and have remained in the same family ever since.

Flute with crack through. The flautist with age cracks to rear. Budai with very minor age cracks. Dip pen with a 1cm split near screw fixing.
