A French late 19th-century amboyna, ebony and gilt brass music stand with an inclining shaped gallery top inlaid with musical trophies within a pierced brass gallery. Fitted a single frieze drawer above open compartments. Supported by realistically cast pied-de biche legs. 50 cm wide x 35 cm x 78 cm overall height.

Condition Report

Generally, the stand is in good order with no areas of missing inlay or veneer.

I can not get the stay that supports the top to lock in place I think it must be missing something from the fitting, difficult to explain but if you look at the images you will understand.

my point.

Worth mentioning the ebony isn't really ebony but probably ebonized pearwood/ other fruitwood as is usually the case.

The brass legs are screw fitting and so can be tightened and the brass gallery is a little loose and could do with the pins being tapped in a little more,
