A Songye hermaphrodite power figure (Nkisi), Democratic Republic of Congo, twentieth century, the skull with central animal horn charge from which hangs an animal fur pelt, the face with an applied copper band and studded scarifications, with fibrous neck band and coloured glass beaded necklace, with boar tusks, the hands touching the abdomen with a central recess loaded with Nganga magical properties held by a cloth cover and copper studs, height 119 cm.
