A good pair of Staffordshire porcelain lions attributed to John & Rebecca Lloyd, Shelton, circa 1840, each recumbent lion with a lamb before it, upon a rectangular base with rounded ends, with gilt decoration, impressed spur mark to underside, 12cm wide, 10cm high

Sold for £1,200

Condition Report

Very light rubbing to each lion nose but not overly significant. The right side lion has a patch of brown stain to the rear of the main, but this looks to be contemporary to production, and a very small chip to the bottom right. There is nothing obvious to suggest that there has been any losses or restorations. |Each lion has some pitting spots on its body. Generally in good order throughout. These have been in the Maidenhead vendors family home for many decades.
