An Indian short sword with curved steel blade and horn handle in a leather and white metal mounted scabbard, engraved 'Heir Loom [sic] Tippoo Sultan's Sword, Taken from his body at Seringapatam, 3rd May 1799', together with a framed watercolour portrait, initialled 'LB', purportedly of Tipu Sultan. The sword blade measures 59 cm and scabbard 69 cm, the portrait being 25.5 cm x 17.5 cm.
