A George IV/ William IV mahogany partners kneehole writing desk with tooled leather and crossbanded to, Fitted three frieze drawers to each side and a further six pedestal drawers and panel cupboard doors to the opposing side. On simple moulded plinths. 137 cm long x 96 cm wide x 79 cm overall height, 60 cm height of kneehole.

Condition Report

some small areas of crossbanding missing from the top

One frieze drawer requires the drawer stops replacing

The sides of the pedestals have signs of the usual fine shrinkage cracks

The leather top is in good order.

The handles are replacements and it looks as if the desk has had a succession of handles that seem to occupy the same holes, some of the holes are plugged from wooden knobs being fitted at some point, all of these holes are hidden by the handle back plates.
