In the manner of Ralph Turnbull, an early Victorian specimen timber inlaid worktable, the octagonal top with palm wood, green heart, West Indian satinwood, rosewood and other exotic timbers in a radiating pattern. The underside of the hinged lid is inlaid with a fruit design and bearing the legend "Lady's Companion" above a fitted interior. On a "Trafalgar" base with simple scroll feet. (Possibly colonial West Indies) 47.5 cm diameter/wide x 68 cm overall height.

The scroll feet show signs of old woodworm flight holes
The top doesn't seem to have the usual warp seen in these tables.
