A set of eight good quality mahogany Chippendale style dining chairs with rococo, pierced and carved cresting rails and splats, over upholstered drop-in seats, supported on bold cabriole legs terminating in claw and ball feet. The set comprising six single and two carver chairs. Possibly by Maple & Co c.1900

Condition Report

Some minor cracking to the splats

No apparent major defects

I have been through the chairs and all seat frame joints seem quite firm.

All of the single chairs have marks where they have been pushed under the dining table and the table edge has struck the upright stiles.

The finish would need some remedial work, probably reviving the existing finish would work.

Both carver chairs have one arm that is loose

The chairs show the marks and knocks of usage consistent with the age.
