Condition Report
The casket is lined in blocked fabric but this could be a later addition as the edges are very fresh
The reverse panel has either a replacement covering or is a wholesale replacement it is impossible to distinguish without disassembly.
The bottom seems to have been painted with a glue and pigment mixture that is slightly suspicious, it could just be in an effort to amalgamate a wormed bottom board as there is some evidence of worm activity. Worth mentioning at this stage that the bottom shows open worm galleries this could be due to an original cover being removed or the rubbing down of the surface.
I hope this doesn't sound negative but I just want to be honest in my report.
See the short videos I have compiled to illustrate my points.
