Two Songye (Nkisi) fetish figures, Democratic Republic of Congo, carved as standing males each facing to the right, their hands on either side of a pronounced abdomen, with Bishimba, the larger example with copper strips and brass studs applied to the face, and animal pelts on the rear of the head, with further metal bangles around the neck, with reptile skin around his chest, with woven raffia skirt, height 104cm; the smaller figure with two horn charges, applied brass studs to the head, a glass bead and animal tooth necklace, and a reptile skin skirt, height: 82cm.
