Richard Coles (Cornhill?) Ipswich. An early 19th-century eight-day longcase clock. With lancet arch arched door mahogany case. The movement chiming the hours on a single bell and fitted a painted dial with moon phase to indicator to the broken arch with a secondary dial at 12 noon and calendar aperture at 6 o'clcock. 209 cm high x 46 cm wide. 30 cm dial.

Condition Report

The movement is clean and seems complete and has its corresponding weights and pendulum

The dial is very clean, I wondered if it had been re enameld however the dial does show some fine cracks in the enamel dispelling my theory.

The dial sits well within the mask although it sits further than expected on the cheeks to place it where expected in the mask

The case and hood are in good order but all hood finials are missing.

The lancet arch door has a slight spring when the door is unlocked
