An early 19th century Scottish silver and agate vinaigrette; oblong with caved foliate border and polished striated agate to cover, foliate bar thumbpiece and reeded borders, the base foliate engraved around a monogram engraved cartouche; the hinged cover opening to reveal a gilt grille pierced and engraved with thistle design. Maker's mark R&S struck three times to cover and base. 3.1 cm length
