A large and impressive late 19th / early 20th century Chinese carved hardwood throne chair the back crested with a deep carved dog of foe and flowers, the panel back carved in relief with another dog of foe surrounded by flowers and clouds, the arms carved as large dragons with pearls in their mouths, with contrasting hardwood solid seat, the base carved with further dogs of foe legs and paw feet, 134 cm high.
