A 19th Century Ceylonese brass mounted wooden chest supported on large pad front feet, the hinged lid revealing a vacant interior, the exterior decorated throughout with pierced and chased brass mounts and studs, centred by an ornate scrolling escutcheon with vacant shield cartouche 75 cm high, 97 cm long, 55 cm deep.
