A spectacular 1970s pair of A.VE.M. (Arte Vetreria Muranese) multicoloured Murano glass vases the white cores overlaid with stripes in purple, blue, green and red stripes over silver leaf fragments, 28cm high. (2) After a layer of colourless glass was applied over the white core, the partially blown body was rolled in silver foil. The coloured stripes were then applied and the body was then blown fully and shaped, fragmenting the leaf and giving a rainbow of colours as the silver leaf reflects the colour above it. A pair is eye-wateringly rare.
