Auction Highlights - Fine Wine, Whisky, Rare Spirits & Cigars

Dawsons Auctioneers’ recent Fine Wine, Whisky, Rare Spirits & Cigars auction held on Wednesday, 26th April showcased a wide-ranging selection, whilst bespoke in-house global marketing ensured that avid collectors and enthusiasts were drawn from across the world.  

Among the standout lots was a bottle of Dalmore 45-Year-Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled and bottled at Dalmore Distillery, Alness. This rare 750ml bottle, housed in a Baccarat crystal glass decanter with serial number 4157161. Strong international bidding ensued with this impressive bottle eventually selling for £3,500.

The auction also featured a bottle of Domaine d'Auvenay Bonnes-Mares 1993 Grand Cru, Lalou Bize-Leroy. This 750ml bottle, with a Thomas Wine Imports USA label, certainly attracted a lot of bidder attention and sold for £3,200.

Champagne connoisseurs were not left wanting, as a Jeroboam of Louis Roederer Champagne from 1928, and in its original case, also captured the eye of bidders, ultimately selling for £2,200.

Another noteworthy sale was a bottle of Macallan Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky, 18 years old, distilled in 1979, and bottled in 1997. The 70cl bottle, with a 43% Vol, in its original carton, sold for £1,800.
