A Kusu Janus helmet mask, Democratic Republic of Congo, each face with scrolling horns, one painted red with black eyebrows, the opposing side with a black face with red eyes, lips and chin, 41cm; and a Makonde mask, Cameroon, with incised scarifications to the forehead and temples, the sunken eyes and jowls with a series of small indents, metal studs to the centre of the eyes, tip and top of the nose and both cheeks, painted in red and white pigment, the sides pierced with holes, 51cm
