The Voyage of Charles Darwin: an autobiography, Episode 5, An Origin of the Species, Signed in blue ink on title-page by director, Martyn Friend, producer, Chris Ralling, and cast members, Malcom Stoddard (Charles Darwin), Andrew Burt (Captain Fitzroy), Peter Settelen (Lieutenant Sullivan), 223-pages on white sheets, including Rehearsal Script, revised 11.1.78, and white correction sheets bound in; and related documents loosely inserted, including Production itinerary for filming on locations in South America, all within red leatherette script folder, titled in black marker pen in Mary’s hand on spine, 23 x 33cm overall;

together with, five colour photographs, depicted the cast in costume and the barque, Marques, refitted for the film to depict HMS Beagle, various sizes, the largest, 9 ¾ x 6 ¾ inches; Film Schedule, 42-pages on yellow, pink, blue and green sheets; a related copy of Radio Times, 1978, and BBC Enterprises Documentary yellow press sheet. For this television series a replica of HMS Beagle set sail from Cornwall in June 1977 on an eight-month journey to South America, and then onto the Galapagos Islands. The second survey expedition voyage of HMS Beagle (1831-1836) made under her newest commander, Captain Robert Fitzroy, was considered by naturalist, Charles Darwin (1809-1882), by far the most important event of his life and formed his ideas on the origin of the species.

Mary Holdsworth, Script Supervisor worked on numerous films and television series including, P’tang, Yang, Kipperbang (1982) Gorky Park (1983), The Company of Wolves (1984), Absolute Beginners (1986), Gorillas in the Mist (1988), Batman (1989) and many others.
