Dame Agatha Christie, Lady Mallowan (1890-1976), an autograph letter signed, on Greenway House, Churston Ferrers, South Devon headed paper, three pages, dated 'Aug 21st' [no year given], reading 'Dear Mr Duff, Very nice of you to have written - I lost your letter which is why I didn't answer it before! House moving is certainly one of the most exhausting tasks that one can undertake in one's older years! I was glad to set to Devon and have a good rest - I must have been looking rather distraught the day you came to see the flat. If you rate the flat, do bug and bully the management into providing more than one central heating radiator. I have carried on a battle, so far unavailingly - very parsimonious of them! So glad you like my books. I hope Endless Night was not too gruesome for you! Yours sincerely, Agatha Mallowan.'
From the Estate of the late Peter Farley. https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2022/nov/17/peter-farley-obituary. The letter is addressed to Robin Duff, Chairman of the Board of Scottish Ballet, and a one-time partner of Mr Farley
