A Victorian coromandel dome-top games compendium, retailed by Baxter of 16 Cockspur Street, London, having a hinged lid and drop front, opening to reveal a fitted interior with lift-out trays, including ivory and red-stained ivory chess pieces, ebony and boxwood draughts, a cribbage board and counters, dice and dice shakers, bone and slate dominoes, four decks of playing cards (to include one unopened pack of De La Rue & Co Patent Ivory Playing Cards), together with a folding hardwood chess board within the cover, (backgammon board verso), the whole 19.5 cm high x 33.5 cm x 19 cm.

Condition Report

General wear to the pieces, commensurate with age, with some likely replacement parts. Height of Kings in chess set: 7.5cm. The case with light surface scratches throughout, visible on close inspection. The case and contents would benefit from a light clean.
