A Japanese Tachi, Edo/Meiji period, the tang with two character signature (Niji mei) 'Jumyo', the kashira, fuchi, menuki & kurigata in shakudo, decorated with scrolling vines, with ray skin tsuka bound in black tsuka-ito, the tsuba decorated with leaves and tendrils, the blade with part textured habaki with two gilt grooves, the blade with gunome midare Hamon terminating with the kissaki with obvious Yokote, the aventurine lacquer scabbard (Saya), with horn? koiguchi, the semegane and sayajiri cast with rolling waves, the blade 69.7cm, 104cm overall

Condition Report

Some very small nicks to the cutting blade, but not really visible to the naked eye. Surace marks and discolouration to the blade throughout. Scuffs and nicks to the scabbard. Handle generally good, with signs of light wear.
