A probably 19th century Sudanese Kaskara sword with silver-gilt disc pommel and diaper grip above a distinctive quillion. The central fullered double edge spear point blade and end of cross guard bearing panels of Arabic script and inset with gold alloy dot detail. 109 cm overall length.
