Lot 405 - A large brass ship's bell from...

A large brass ship's bell from the Norwegian ship Solør, built in 1938 complete with clapper and attachment bolt. 30cm diameter. Note: On the 27th January 1945, Solør was struck by torpedo from a German U-Boat in the Irish Sea killing two crew. She managed to limp into Oxwich Bay where she beached and was broken up, She is one of the better known of the Gower Shipwrecks.
