The Smiths (1982 - 1987) were a British rock band formed in Manchester, composed of Morrissey (vocals), Johnny Marr (guitar), Andy Rourke (bass), and Mike Joyce (drums). The band is widely regarded as one of the most important acts to emerge from the 1980s British independent music scene and is best known for the songs This Charming Man, Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, and There is a Light That Never Goes Out.
