Condition Report

The quarter cut oak panel has a spliced strip at the right hand edge and a thinner strip on the left edge, the surface is open and looks as if a coarse brush perhaps a brass brush has been used to remove the old varnish or paint.

the reverse of the panel shows some historic rot that has been stabalised and some insect infestation, mostly confined to a 10 cm band running along the bottom edge.

The panel is constructed by rub jointed boards and they are now slightly split and is moving a tiny bit.
