Josef Herman (1911-2000) Polish/British, 'The Little Street', 1953 (and later), a figure before houses with a tree to their side, oil on panel, signed and titled verso, 50 cm x 65 cm in a contemporary frame. The reverse includes a hand-written note by the artist: 'This painting is the last painting I painted in Ystradgynlais in 1953, but repainted many parts and completed the picture in 1979'.
